Jira Integration

Jira connection via OAuth, tickets and projects sync, data synchronization.

Jira Connection

We use OAuth to securely connect with your Jira Cloud workspace. No API tokens or passwords are needed — you authorize EffiClose directly through Atlassian.

  1. Navigate to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Find "Jira" in the integrations list and click Connect
  3. You will be redirected to Atlassian — sign in with your Atlassian account and authorize EffiClose
  4. Select the Jira site you want to connect (if you have access to multiple sites)
  5. Choose the default project where new issues will be created
  6. Choose the default issue type (e.g., Task, Bug, Story)
  7. EffiClose creates a test issue in the selected project to verify that permissions are configured correctly
  8. The integration status will show as "Connected"
Permissions: During authorization, EffiClose requests access to read and write Jira work data (projects, issues, statuses, and priorities). A refresh token is used to keep the connection active — you do not need to re-authorize periodically.

Data Synchronization

Data syncs between the platform and Jira automatically every 2 hours.

Imported Data:

We import the following Jira data:

  • Tickets: All issues from your Jira projects
  • Projects: Available projects in your Jira instance
  • Statuses: Issue status configurations
  • Work Types: Issue types (Story, Task, Bug, etc.)
  • Priorities: Issue priority levels
  • Transitions: Available workflow transitions

Troubleshooting

Connection issues:

  • Disconnect and reconnect the integration to re-authorize with Atlassian
  • Ensure your Atlassian account has access to the Jira site you are trying to connect
  • Check that EffiClose has not been revoked in your Atlassian account settings

Sync errors:

  • Disconnect and reconnect the integration
  • Verify the user account has proper permissions
  • Review error messages in the integration status page

Permission issues:

  • Ensure the user has access to the required projects
  • Check Jira project role configurations
